Monterey Pine (Pinus radiata) are non-native but grow well in Hawaii, primarily in cooler, higher-elevation areas like the Big Island. Monterey Pine was an introduced forestry tree & is valued for it’s fast growth & wood, though their wood density and characteristics differ from mainland-grown specimens due to Hawaii's unique environment. This beautiful Monterey Pine branch was pulled from the Pacific Ocean near Pine Trees Big Island.
