When this round rolled off the line back in 1981 at the Igman Factory at Konjic, Boznia and Herzgovina, nobody had any idea it would one day become a cabinet knob! The 7.62 x 39 Soviet pattern system allowed this caliber and cartridge to maintain military interoperability. Russia, North Korea, Finland, China, & Vietnam still use 7.62 X 39 along side newer 5.45 & 5.56 rifles.
