This Pahoehoe (lava) tumbled knob was created by Pele, tumbled in the Pacific, then deposited on a lava beach where discovered. In Hawaiian culture, Pele is the goddess of volcanoes & fire & the creator of Lako Hawai'i. Pele's Curse refers to the widespread belief that taking lava rocks, sand, or any natural materials from Hawai'i brings bad luck.
